  • Overview

    Cadence McShane is seeking a Business Development Associate to secure new commercial, multi-family, and/or senior living business for the company. This position will play a critical role in helping the company achieve its strategic growth objectives. This position will be based out of the company’s headquarters in Addison, TX.

    Responsibilities

    • Research and identify companies in the targeted industries that have needs for the construction of new facilities. 
    • Network to identify, meet, and maintain relationships with key players in the prospective client’s real estate and capital construction decision-making process.
    • Identify and participate in industry-related trade shows and conferences to expand Cadence McShane Construction’s exposure to potential client base.
    • In partnership with Marketing, develop a marketing campaign directed at key decision makers.
    • Review potential projects with the Vice President to determine appropriate fit for Cadence McShane Construction and identify the project team to support the project pursuit.
    • Work with the selected project team to develop proposal: educate staff on the project type; assist in developing cost estimates; involvement of specialty contractors; and develop specifications, schedules and other proposal-related tools.
    • In partnership with the Vice President, secure the sale and get the work under contract.
    • Stay involved in the early stages of the project to ensure a smooth transition to the project team. Touch base periodically with the project team to assess progress. Be available to the team as a technical resource. Stay in touch with the client to confirm that his/her expectations are being met and to position McShane Construction for the next opportunity.
    • Prepare an annual marketing and sales plan outlining objectives for the coming year.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of experience in the Texas construction market.
    • Current network of contacts in the Texas commercial and/or multi-family markets.  
    • Strong business development and interpersonal skills to open doors and foster relationships.
    • Ability to use a computer, the Internet, and word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and email software.
